Help in Solidarity

New to the EU or stuck with a practical problem? Our volunteers help — for free.

What we help with

Every year we help more than 600 people, one query at a time. Established locals and well-integrated residents volunteer their knowledge and time for people who are just starting out here.

  • Bureaucracy — residence, registrations, documents, dealing with state offices
  • Housing — finding a place, contracts, tenant questions
  • Healthcare — insurance, registering with a doctor, navigating the system
  • Education — schools, universities, recognition of diplomas
  • Work & taxation — basics of employment, taxes and social security
  • Volunteering, Erasmus+ & travel — European opportunities open to you

Where we work

We are active mainly in the expat and newcomer communities of Slovakia, Czechia, Poland, Hungary, Austria, Germany, Italy and Spain — and our volunteer team answers in several languages, including Slovak, Czech, English, German and Turkish.

How to ask for help

Write us an email describing your situation — where you live, what you're trying to solve, and what you've already tried. A volunteer will get back to you. The service is free of charge and treated confidentially.
